In nine years with POET he started two major green-field ethanol plants and led equity drives, refinancing and expansion efforts for these facilities. He started his career with ADM, where he held positions in trading and plant operations management. Most recently he was the general manager for ED&amp;F Man s ethanol operations in the United States, leading asset management and business development efforts.</p> <p>Mr. Simpson has served on the boards of the Renewable Fuels Association, Michigan Agribusiness Association and the Tuscola County (Mich.)
