Nancy Ruf brings more than 20 years of experience in administering contracts from cradle to grave solicitations, contract preparation, cost and price analysis, negotiation, contract issuance, administration and closeout. She has worked in a variety of industries including scientific research, engineering, transit and construction.
Prior to joining the KBA, Ms. Ruf worked with her husband to create and grow their construction and raw land development company. As manager of contracts for Midwest Research Institute, she oversaw the operations of all contracts coming in and going out of MRI. She streamlined department operations including the standardization of contract document boilerplates. As contract administrator for the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission, Ms. Ruf was responsible for releasing Requests for Proposals (RFP), analyzing the responses, preparing the contract documents and presenting the award requests to the City Council for approval of the light rail, heavy rail and subway system for the city of Los Angeles. Throughout her work experience, Ms. Ruf has been the recipient of many awards recognizing her contributions to the process.
Ms. Ruf earned her accounting degree from Kansas State University. She was treasurer of Heartland Partners in Care and has consistently provided volunteer work at various non-profit organizations throughout Kansas City.
