Brad Kemp
Project Director, Cancer Fighting Cures
Kansas Bioscience Authority

Brad Kemp leads the KBA’s Cancer Fighting Cures initiative, a statewide effort to improve the quality of cancer-related research and care. The initiative seeks to leverage the state’s excellence in pharmaceutical research to spur the commercialization of cancer drugs and boost Kansans’ access to the most advanced cancer therapies. It also supports the effort of the University of Kansas Cancer Center to gain designation as a national cancer center from the National Cancer Institute.

Mr. Kemp has more than 20 years’ experience in nonprofit management, science policy advocacy, and informal science education. Until 2009, he was executive director of the Kansas Coalition for Lifesaving Cures. He also has served as director of public programs for the University of Kansas Biodiversity Institute and has experience in media relations and private fund-raising.

Mr. Kemp has degrees from the University of Kansas and Kansas State University.

“We are very excited about the collaboration that has taken place with the Kansas Bioscience Authority and are looking forward to bringing new job opportunities to the local community with this important investment in our business.”
